With its varied landscape, long coastline and the perfect beaches, Dorset is the perfect place for your next Hog Roast Charmouth event. Dorset can be a quirky place at times, which means there’s lots of unforgettable and fun experiences to be had. Our county homes about 400,000 which means that we are mostly rural, the mixture of striking coastlines and vast empty spaces means you have plenty of choices when looking for unusual things to take part of in Dorset. Including ‘Bridport Hat Festival’ a festival that sees the whole town wearing hats for charity and there’s even a fun hat competition for the craziest hat. Portland Alpacas is a farm you can visit on Portland where you have the chance to walk an alpaca around the Isle… pretty unique, right?

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any weirder… Dorset is home to the ‘Dorset Knob Throwing Festival’ which takes part at Kingston Maurward College, and sees hundreds of people competing to throw a Knob (bread bun) the furthest, there’s also lots of other competitions including, Knob and spoon race, Guess the weight of the Big Knob, Knob darts and Knob Pyramid. The picturesque Gold Hill in Shaftesbury is used every year as a racing track for ‘The Gold Hill Cheese Race’ where competitors have to carry a great slab of cheese to weigh you down as you try to reach the top of the hill – Hog Roast Charmouth know that we’d want a Hog Roast Roll waiting for us at the top as a reward.
Above is a list of Dorset towns and villages that we cover, from ‘The Blue Pool, Furzebrook’ nestled into the Purbeck Hills lies a magical scene that continues to attract wildlife and walkers. ‘Dorchester Roman Town House’ a fourth century house that is now used as backdrops for plays and art exhibitions. If you can’t see your town on the list, then please still do get in touch, Hog Roast Charmouth will be able to travel further to provide you with the catering service that you and your guests need for your next event.
